Meet our Trustees

Jeremy Prichard

Chair of Trustees

For fifteen years Jeremy worked with numerous national and international organisations specialising in strategic management and organisation development projects in many parts of the world with PN Associates, a business consultancy of which he was a founding partner.

Jeremy was Chief Executive of the Harbour Centre (Plymouth) for ten years before joining Improving Lives Plymouth.

He first came to Plymouth in 1969 as a young officer based at the Royal Citadel. He left the Army ten years later to join the commercial world initially with United Biscuits plc, in London and Edinburgh, and then with the Rank Organisation plc. In the early 1990’s he enjoyed a brief spell in the financial sector working in an international business training organisation. He returned to the West Country in 2000.

Elaine Latham

Trustee

Elaine joined Improving Lives Plymouth as a Trustee in 2018. Elaine has lived in Plymouth, with her family, since 1983 and has worked extensively with the NHS both as a Registered Nurse and as a senior NHS leader/manager locally, across the south west region and nationally. Until recently Elaine has run her own business, working within the care sector, helping individuals and organisations to develop. Having recently retired, Elaine likes to spend time with her family and enjoys cycling, reading, cooking and travelling. Elaine is also a Trustee with the Macular Society and has an interest in sensory impairment.

Emily Steed

Trustee

Emily is a qualified accountant and partner of GrowthBuilders. She provides insourced finance support and advice to growing technology and digital companies. She trained and qualified with PwC, in their Plymouth office, and has more than 20 years’ experience working with private companies and public sector / not for profit organisations across the South West and beyond. She is a mother of three young children who loves to spend time on the water and enjoying our beautiful South West coastline.

Sue Keaty

Trustee

Sue is a born and bred Plymothian who is passionate about her city and its surroundings, she enjoys the whole South West and especially walking along the Devon and Cornwall coastline when not working.

Sue has always worked for companies as a supervisor or manager culminating as a Financial Adviser with over 30 years’ experience, specialising in helping clients to manage their investments and advising on retirement planning.

Sue’s strengths are based around her ability to be a keen listener and to identify what support people need. Sue now feels that these qualities can be put to good use in assisting others within the Plymouth area.

Steve Waite

Trustee

Steve qualified as a nurse in the early 1980s and has worked in a variety of settings throughout his career. Retiring in 2018 as CEO of Livewell Southwest, Steve has undertaken roles in the NHS, Reserve Forces, Community and Voluntary Sector and as CEO of a Community Interest Company.

Steve has a keen interest in gardening and in his two allotments. Walking around our magnificent coastlines as well as industrial archaeology and heritage are two of his other interests.

Kate Meredith

Trustee

Kate has over 30 years’ experience working in Human Resources within both the private and public sector, including Butlins and the NHS, with her current employment being at the Royal College of Nursing as a regional officer.

Kate is a keen but “very amateurish” gardener, enjoying time in her allotment as well as in her back yard. She also enjoys travelling and never misses an opportunity to visit new places. Kate loves to take time out walking with her rather crazy but adorable oversized boxer dog, Rodney.
